[S497] Obituary of TJ Vaughn - Clarksville Leaf-Chronicle - 1944, (Name: The Leaf-Chronicle; Location: Clarksville TN; Date: 28 Feb 1944;), TJ VAUGHN'S FUNERAL HELD THIS AFTERNOON. T J Vaughn, 76 years old. died at his home Sunday night. He had been ill for several weeks. Funeral services were conducted at Hunt's Chapel this afternoon by the Rev C G Sego, pastor of the Second Baptist Church. Burial was in Riverview Cemetery. Pallbearers were Cliff Edgar, Emmett Swift, Lurton Gibbs, Chandler Hagan, Harry Smith, and Axel Johnson. Mr Vaughn was twice married. His first wife was Miss Leona Shelby. To this union six children were born, four of whom survive, R E Vaughn, New Providence; A R Vaughn, Clarksville; Mrs Elliott Smith, Clarksville, and Mrs Clarence Bryant, Port Royal. Two other sons, Otha and V V Vaughn preceded him in death. He also leaves 16 grandchildren, and one great-grandchild. His second wife, Mrs Nettie Gibbs Vaughn, also preceded him in death. He was a member of the Stamper's Chapel Methodist Church, and leaves a host of friends.
