Sacred to the memory of Lucas Hood whose body lies beneath this slab. He was born in Berkley Co., Virginia, July 4, 1770, removing to Pennsylvania in 1774, to Kentucky in 1784. Was in General Wayne's or General Harmer's Army at his defeat; was a spy under Wayne and was in the Battle of Fallen Timbers, Aug. 21, 1794 when the Indians were defeated. Died in Clark Co., Kentucky Sept. 30, 1843. The inscription from the tombstone of General Lucas Hood was copied many years before this book was written. The stone had already disappeared in 1974. book "Old Graveyards of Clark Co., Kentucky" Compiled and Edited by Kathryn Owen. Published in 1975 for the 175th anniversary of the state of Kentucky. Kathryn Owen was a genealogist, historian, and of Clark Co., family. Her work was supported with authenticity by Clark Co., Kentucky in 1974.
