The War Shipping Administration today authorized release of the names of the 37 members of the crew of the Boston collier Suffolk, believed lost in a gale off Montauk Point, Long Island, a week ago last Saturday. The names of nine Greater Boston men were included in the list of those missing and believed lest on the ill-fated collier, which was bringing a load of bituminous coal to Boston from Norfolk. Va., when she radioed twice for help on Dec. 11. Names of four Navy men who were members of the collier's gun crew have not yet been released by the Navy. Although the Suffolk is still officially listed as "missing," the Navy conducted a four-day search for her with both ships and planes, then announced it had abandoned the hunt.
