Jean Peterson passed away peacefully with her loving husband by her side on May 4, 2012. Jean was born on October 6, 1918 to John and Nellie Rex in Alameda, California. Jean met the man of her dreams, Wilmer, at the age of 10. She wrote him a note that said I love you. She moved away to Seattle and returned at the age of 17 and was reunited with Wilmer. They married at the age of 19 and have been happily married for 73 years. She is survived by her loving husband Wilmer Peterson, her two daughters; Nancy (David) Finch and Diane Peterson, 5 grandchildren; Michael, Jon, Chris, Lori and Vicki and 6 great grandchildren. She is also survived by her nephew Norman (Linda) Peterson, numerous wonderful neighbors and loving friends including her friends of over 50 years Art and Bonnie Thal. Jean is preceded in death by her parents John and Nellie Rex and her brother Pierce Rex. Jean will be greatly missed by all.
Visitation will be held from 12-8pm Wednesday, May 9, 2012 at Cherokee Memorial Funeral Home, 831 E. Industrial Way, Lodi. A Memorial Service will be held 2pm Thursday, May 10, 2012 at the Temple Baptist Church, 801 South Lower Sacramento Road, Lodi. Interment will be held privately at Cherokee Memorial Park, Lodi.
Memorial Contributions may be made to Temple Baptist Church, Lodi.
