An Adams, Tenn., woman was killed and her daughter seriously injured near here Sunday when their car ran through a blanket of smoke and crashed into a tractor-trailer truck. State Trooper Joe P, Goff identified the two as: Mrs. Ruth S. Bourne, 42, wife of a Robertson County Court magistrate, killed instantly in the wreck. Miss Elaine Bourne, 19, of Adams, who was listed yesterday in critical condition at Westside Hospital, Nashville. Goff said the mishap occurred on U.S. 41 about a mile south of Guthrie, Ky. He said Mrs. Bourne apparently did not see the truck, which her car struck from the rear, because of smoke on the highway from a nearby brush fire. Another passenger in the car, Sue Sholar, 19, of1 Guthrie, was treated at Memorial Hospital here and released. broken pelvis and other injuries received in an earlier highway mishap. Services for Mrs. Bourne will be at 3 p.m. today at Associated Funeral Home, Springfield. Burial will be in Beflwood Cemetery, Adams. Survivors in addition to her daughter include her husband!
