Harold was born in Nashville, Tn., one of four siblings on October 8, 1923. Nancy's house was on his paper route and he was immediately smitten. She wasn't. He persevered and finally won her over. WWII interfered. Harold was part of the 1st Marine Division that stormed the beaches of Guadalcanal and turned the tide of the war against Japan. After the war Harold and Nancy were married.
Harold is survived by his baby sister Ann Hamilton, four children; Dorothy Sharon Steidle (Ken), Clifford Ray Smith (Judy) Cheryl Lynn Smith, Melinda Leigh Wood, ten grandchildren, thirteen great grandchildren (and one on the way), and a plethora of nieces, nephews, and grand nieces and nephews. Harold was preceded in death by his sister Eleanor Wooten, his brother Edice Ray Smith, and his beloved wife Nancy Jane Smith.
The family will host a gathering of friends and acquaintances Saturday, January 9, 2016 from 2:00 to 4:00 at Asbury United Methodist Church, 1700 Napa Valley Road, Little Rock.

Mr Smith was a lifelong resident of Montgomery County, son of the lateMcFern and Mattie Smith. He was a member of the Church of Christ.
He is survived by his wife, Mrs Annie Shrader Smith; seven sons, Lewis F Smith, Cedar Hill, Tenn, Jesse H, Clinton H, Harlons, JW, William D, and Robert E Smith, all of Clarksville; three daughters, Mrs Bracy Bryant, Clarkesville, Mrs John Parker, Needmore Community, Mrs Sam Shemwell; Clarksville; two half brothers, McFern Smith, Nashville, Lurton Smith, Knoxville; a half sister, Mrs AB Vaughn, Clarksville; 32 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
