Martha Joyce Degonia, 66, of Bonne Terre, passed away Nov. 11, 1999, at Parkland Hospital, Bonne Terre. She was born on Oct 31, 1933, in Washington County, daughter of the late Walter and Naomi (Eggers) Pettus. She was preceded in death by her husbands: Henry Twomey and George Everett Degonia and three brothers: Dale Wigger, Allen Kenneth Pettus and Steven Merrill Pettus. She was a member of the Primrose Baptist Church. She is survived by seven daughters and one son: Judith Brazier of Germany; Doris (Dodi) Beard of California; Barbara Hannefin of Montana; Donna Scovil of Delaware; Clara (Cricket) Twomey of Bonne Terre; Paula Edgar of Bonne Terre; Joyce Maria Dunn of De Soto; Henry (Hank) Twomey of Bonne Terre; four brothers and six sisters: Walter (Donnie) Pettus of Granite City IL; Ronald Dean Pettus of St Louis; Gary David Pettus of Bonne Terre; Kerry Dale Pettus of Caseyville IL; Sammie Ford of Catawissa MO; Carol Whittier of Bonne Terre; Judy Stegall of Bonne Terre; Fern Stegall of Bonne Terre; Phyllis Stanfill of Bonne Terre; Elaine Dixon of Bonne Terre; nine grandchildren; one great-grandchild. Visitation will be Tuesday at 2 p.m. at Sparks Funeral Home, Bonne Terre. Funeral services will be Wednesday at 11 a.m. at Sparks Chapel with Rev. Greg Stegall officiating. Burial in Woodlawn Cemetery.
