Nashville, TN HORN, Eleanor Wooten Died August 17, 2004 after a lengthy illness. Born August 10, 1925, daughter of McFerrin Smith and Myrtle Smith Post. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband of 28 years, Bill Wooten in 1972 and a daughter, Gail Wooten Tune in 1992.
Eleanor was an active member for many years at Valley View Baptist Church. She retired from the Baptist Bookstore Mail Order Center in 1990. She was a talented seamstress, whose creations as varied as wedding gowns, Halloween costumes and draperies brought joy to her family and friends. Her sense of style, grace and kindness will be lovingly remembered by everyone who knew her.
She is survived by husband of 11 years, LaFayette S. Horn; daughters, Pamela Wooten Klase (David) and Dana Wooten Morphis (Larry); grandchildren, Diane Denney Geier (Jay), Gregory Denney (Carey), Rosemary Denney Neubert (Randy), Matthew Klase (Jessica), Amanda Klase and Jacob Morphis; great-grandchildren, Flint, Jack and Anna-belle Geier, Patrick and Paige Denney, Georgia and Ashley Neubert, and Isabel Klase; sister, Ann Hamilton (Lonie); brothers, Harold Smith and Edice Smith (Janice); stepdaughters, Leah Horn and Myra Horn.
The family would like to acknowledge Dr. Seth Cooper and his staff, who have lovingly cared for Eleanor for the last twenty-two years. Also the family would like to express love and appreciation to Harriet and Charles Thompson, Laura and Vernon Vaden, J. B. Brew and Virginia Amos, who have been dear and faithful friends of Eleanor for many years.
Visitation will be Friday, 6 - 8 p.m., at Woodlawn Funeral Home. A service celebrating Eleanor's life will be Saturday, August 21, 2004 at 11:30 a.m., at the Woodlawn Chapel of Roses, with Dr. Ernest Stan-derferand Rev. Greg Bell officiating. Interment will follow at Woodlawn Memorial Park. Active Pallbearers will be Larry Link, Tom Smith, Jim Pridy, Joe Seigenthaler, Alton Lincoln and Malcolm Hall. Memorials may be made in Eleanor's name to Valley View Baptist Church or the American Cancer Society.
