William "Bill" Edwin Hadlock, 80, died Sept 24 1994 in Hancock. He was born Oct 13 1913 at Islesford, the son of George R and Edna (Campbell) Hadlock. He worked for many years as a supervisor at Northeast Utilities in Hartford Conn. He was a member of the following organizations, Tremont Masonic Lodge No 77 of Southwest Harbor, the Elks No 2743 of Ellsworth, and Moose No 501 of Palm Beach Gardens Fla. Bill is survived by his wife Jeanette O (Pierce) Hadlock; a son and daughter-in-law Dale I and Jeanine Hadlock; a daughter Joyce H Rogers, all of Hancock; one stepson, Donald Pierce of Bucksport; six grandchildren; Cindy White of Trenton, Jeanette Gaspie of Franklin, Roy Hadlock of Islesford, E William Banning of Meriden Conn, Rene Fender of Valdosta Ga, and Karen Carl of Lapeer Mich; 12 great-grandchildren; many cousins, nieces and nephews. The family invites friends to call 6:30-8 pm Monday Sept 26 1994 at the Fernald Funeral Chapel, Mt Desert where Masonic services will be held at 7 pm. Funeral services will be held 11 am Tuesday Sept 27 1994 at the Islesford Congregational Church. Interment will be at Hadlock Cemetery, Islesford. The boat leaves Northeast Harbor at 9 am Tuesday and returns at 1:30 pm. At the family's request gifts may be given in Bill's memory to the Greater Ellsworth Lodge of Elks No 2743, Building Fund, care of Bruce Allen PO Box 85 Ellsworth 04605.

George R. Hadlock, 78, who served as Judge of Probate Court from 1946 until 1957, died Friday at a Bar Harbor hospital after short illness.
Judge Hadlock was a veteran of World War I serving as lieutenant on a submarine chaser out of the first Naval District Boston. He served as Hancock County registrar of deeds from 1919 until 1946 when he became Judge of Probate Court. He retired in 1957. Born at Islesford, July 21 1880, he was the son of Gilbert and Georgia (Tinker) Hadlock. The judge was a member of the Islesford Congregational Church and the Masonic Lodge of Ellsworth.
Survivors are three sons, Elmer C. of San Francisco, Cal, Wendell S. of Rockland, and William E of Hartford Conn; three grandchildren; and two great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be conducted at the Islesford Congregrational Church Sunday afternoon at 2 o'clock, with the Rev Neal Bousfield officiating.
Bearers will be Irving Spurling, Frank Bartlett, Francis Fernald, and Ralph Bryant. Friends may call at the Fernald Funeral Home, Mt Desert, Saturday afternoon and evening. Burial will be in Hadlock Cemetery, Islesford. Boats will leave Southwest Harbor Sunday at 12 noon and 1 o’clock to transport friends.
