Funeral services for Effie Maine Rowe Turbyfill, Sayre, who died Sunday in the Sayre hospital were held Tuesday in the Sayre Freewill Baptist church at 2:30 p.m. with Rev. Clyde Hammer and Rev. J.L. VanWinkle officiating.
Mrs. Turbyfill was born March 25, 1884 in Louisville, Kentucky and in 1902 was married to James Rowe at Watonga. After his death in 1947 she married Hullum Turbyfill. She came to Oklahoma with her parents as a small child and settled near Hennesey and came to Beckham county in 1941 and has resided there since.
She was preceded in death by her husband and one son.,
Survivors include three daughters, Mrs. Edith Barber of Cheyenne, Mrs. Thelma Calhoun of Oklahoma City, and Mrs. Junita Shaw, Snyder; three brothers, Leslie Thomas, Beaver City, Jimmie Thomas, of California and Mack Thomas, Covina, California; two sisters, Maggie Bates of Corvalis, Oregon, Mrs. Ella Ashley, Corvalis, California; 14 grandchildren, 30 great grandchildren, and two great great grandchildren.
Burial was in the Sayre Doxey Cemetery with Moore Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
Pallbearers were Lloyd Martin, Frank Barber, Wayne Barber, Joe Merritt, Carl Brown and Harley Blundell.

Funeral services for Hullum Turbyfill, retired farmer and rancher, who died Saturday at the Shattuck hospital following an extended illness were held Monday at the Sayre Free Will Baptist church at 3:00pm with Rev Clyde Hamar and Rev Lynn Heard officiating.
Born September 27, 1889 at Denton, Texas. Mr Turbyfill came to western Oklahoma with his parents in 1903, where they homesteaded in the Grimes community until 1944 and moved to Sayre. He was married to Katie Gamble May 1916 at Cheyenne, who preceded him in 1943.
He was married to Effte Rowe Sayre, in 1950. He was a long-time member of the First Baptist church. His parents, two sisters and three brothers preceded him. Survivors are his wife of the home, two daughters, Mrs Iris Pennington, Reydon, and Mrs Rita Thompson, Lawton, three stepdaughters, Mrs. Juanita Shaw, Hobart, Mrs Thelma Calhoun, Oklahoma City, Mrs. Edith Barber, Crawford; five grandchildren, two great grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs Effte Lee of Hickory, Mrs Leah Olson, Grimes; two brothers Luther of Grimes and Bill of Oklahoma City.
Pall bearers were Alba Paddack, Jay Bowers, Uncas Ely, Aubry Parman, David Dare, Uncas Ely, Mayo Cox. Committal was in the Dempsey Cemetery with the Moore Funeral hone in charge of arrangements.
