From the Harvey W. Hunt funeral home at 1 p. m. Thursday prayer services will be conducted for Brandon F. Cobb, 38-year-old resident of District 1, who was shot by his uncle-in-law, Gordon Edwards, in front of the Edwards' home Tuesday afternoon. Prayers will be offered by the Rev. F. P. Taylor and committal services will be conducted at the grave in Lafayette cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Dan Rosslter, Joe Moss, A. D. Hewell, Roy Clardy, Dotson Farmer and Emmett Hewell.
Mr Cobb is survived by his widow, Mrs Estelle Smith Cobb, one son, Gordon, and a daughter, Dorothy, Three brothers and two sisters also survive; They are Ellis Cobb of Herrln, Illinois; Charlie Cobb of Danville, Illinois, and Clarence Cobb of Indian Mound. The sisters are Mrs. Viola Gearetti of Royalton, Illinois and Mrs. Thomas Story of Dawson Springs, Ky.
Mr. Cobb was born In 1897 in the Rose Hill community, the son of the late Mack and Mrs. Donnie Lee Cobb. In 1920 he was married to Miss Estelle Smith, who survives him. He has lived in the Rose Hill community all his life.
He volunteered in the World war on March 21, 1918 and served as a private in Battery A. 148th Field Artillery from September 25, 1918 until June 16, 1919.
Upon returning home he again engaged in farming and was widely known as a tobacco grower. He was a respected citizen of the community In which he lived and a host of friends deeply mourn his death.

Arrested while on his way to surrender to the sheriff Gordon Edwards prominent farmer and unsuccessful legislative candidate at the last election was in jail today charged with first degree murder in the killing late Tuesday afternoon of Brandon Cobb, about 3O at Edwards' home.
Sheriff W E Beaumont said he was told the shooting climaxed an argument over a rented wagon and that Edwards said he fired on Cobb with a shotgun when the latter made a motion as if to draw a gun.
