James M, "Jimtown" Sanderson, 86, of Mayfield died at 8:45 p.m. Friday at his home. He was retired as a foreman with the Kentucky Department of Highways. Mr. Sanderson was a 1934 graduate of Mayfield High School, and was a two-time All-State football player as named by the Louisville Courier Journal in 1933 and 1934, He was a member of Enon Baptist Church, Surviving are his wife, Dorothy Brown Sanderson; three daughters, Ann Snow of Little Rock AR, and Gail Stroup and Tammy Clayton, both of Mayfield; five grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by three brothers and one sister. His parents were James N Sanderson and Esther Holland Sanderson. Services will be at 11 am Monday at Brown Funeral Home in Mayficld, with the Rev Rayland Smith and Charles Fowler officiating, Burial will be in Poyners Chapel Cemetery, Friends may call after 4 p.m. today at the funeral home.
