• Mrs. Betty Bryant Vaughn, grandmother of Vester V Vaughn who was killed in an automobile-truck accident in New Providence Saturday, died at 2:15 am today at her home, following a week's illness of complications incident to her advanced age of 89 years. She was never told of her grandson's tragic death. Funeral services will be held at Stampers Chapel Methodist church in Stewart county Wednesday morning, conducted by the pastor, the Rev P G Johnson. The funeral procession will form at the McReynolds chapel here. Burial will be in Stampers Chapel cemetery. Active pallbearers will be Mrs Vaughn's surviving grandsons and great grandsons, including R E and A B, Melton, Carnell, McFerrin and Charles Vaughn. A native of Stewart county, Mrs. Vaughn had spent most of her life in Montgomery county and had lived in Clarksville for a number of years. She was born on July 21, 1847, a daughter of the late Mr and Mrs Nick Bryant. Her husband, Spencer Vaughn, died several years ago. Surviving are one son, T J Vaughn, of Clarksville; two grandsons, R E and A B Vaughn; two granddaughters, Mrs. Elliott Smith and Mrs. Clarence Bryant, and fifteen great grandchildren, all of Montgomery county, and one brother, Trahern Bryant of Dallas, Texas. Mrs Vaughn was a devoted Christian. She had been a member of Stampers Chapel church since early childhood.

T J Vaughn, 76 years old. died at his home Sunday night. He had been ill for several weeks. Funeral services were conducted at Hunt's Chapel this afternoon by the Rev C G Sego, pastor of the Second Baptist Church. Burial was in Riverview Cemetery. Pallbearers were Cliff Edgar, Emmett Swift, Lurton Gibbs, Chandler Hagan, Harry Smith, and Axel Johnson.
Mr Vaughn was twice married. His first wife was Miss Leona Shelby. To this union six children were born, four of whom survive, R E Vaughn, New Providence; A R Vaughn, Clarksville; Mrs Elliott Smith, Clarksville, and Mrs Clarence Bryant, Port Royal. Two other sons, Otha and V V Vaughn preceded him in death. He also leaves 16 grandchildren, and one great-grandchild. His second wife, Mrs Nettie Gibbs Vaughn, also preceded him in death.
He was a member of the Stamper's Chapel Methodist Church, and leaves a host of friends. Mr. Vaughn was a lifelong resident of Montgomery County, and was a retired farmer.

Raymond E Vaughn 73, died suddenly at his residence Monday afternoon. He was a retired merchant. Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday at McReynolds Funeral Home by the Rev James W Clegg. Burial will be in Greenwood.
Mr Vaughn was born in Montgomery County Feb 7, 1898, son of the late Thomas J and Leona Shelby Vaughn.
Survivors are his widow, Mrs. Fannie Bagby Vaughn; six sons, Carnell, Charles, Dorman D., Ray, and Larry Vaughn, all of Clarksville; Bryan R. Vaughn, Manchester, Tenn.; a daughter, Mrs. James A. Stokes, Orlando, Fla.; a brother, Lonnie Vaughn, Clarksville; two sisters, Mrs. Elliott Smith and Mrs. Clarence Bryant, Clarksville; 19 grandchildren.
He was a member of New Providence Baptist Church. Pallbearers will be WJ Souza, Levi Simpson, Billy Bryant, Tommy Roe, Joel Plummer, Paul Goostree, Rufus Johnson Jr, and James D Hamilton.
