Funeral services were conducted Tuesday afternoon at the grave in the Jordan Springs Cemetery by the Rev N D Story, Baptist minister, for David M Smith, 77, for many years a resident of District 4 of this county, and for a time, its representative in the county quarterly court. Mr Smith died Sunday afternoon at the home in Christian County, Kentucky, where he had resided for the past three years. He was a son of Alexander and Mrs Mary Moore Smith and was a native of this county. His wife, formerly Miss Ella Trammill, died a number of years ago.
He leaves a daughter and five sons, Miss Tommie Smith of Hopkinsville; Tyler, Van, Carl, and Earl Smith of Hopklnsville; Alex Smith of the US army; a brother, John Smith of Oakwood, and two sisters, Miss Leona Smith of Hopklnsville, and Mrs D P Rosstter of Nashville. He was a member of the Hickory Grove Baptist church.
