A mother and daughter were found dead in Franklin this morning apparently victims of self-administered poison according to Williamson County officers. The dead were listed as Mrs Lucy Cotton Anglin, 73, and her daughter Miss Sarah Frances Anglin, 35.
They were found dead at the home of Mrs Anglin's sister Miss Lucy Cotton who lives on Second Ave North. Mrs Anglin and he daughter had been spending the night with Miss Cotton.
Miss Cotton found the bodies.
They were taken to Bethurum Henry and Robinson Funeral Home where funeral services will be conducted Thursday by the Rev Russell Bracey. Burial will be in Leipers Fork Cemetery. A cornorer's report said the victims died from drinking a nicotine-base insecticide. The report said the poison was apparently taken about 2:45am. The bodies were found shortly after 3am. A coroner's inquest was held at 8am.
Mrs Anglin and her daughter were natives of Williamson County and maintained a home in the Hillsboro community about nine miles south of Franklin. Both had been afflicted since childhood. They attended the Methodist Church at Hillsboro and were educated in Williamson County schools. In addition to her sister, Mrs Anglin is survived by a brother, Jasper Cotton, Williamson County
