    8. [S3413] Obituary of Verda Gregerson - Cedar County News - 1929, (Name: Cedar County News; Location: Hartington NE; Date: 30 May 1929;), MRS MP GREGERSON DIES FRIDAY MORNING • FUNERAL SERVICES FOR MOTHER OF FIVE CHILDREN WAS HELD SUNDAY.
      Mrs M P Gregersen of Hartington died at her home Friday morning about 10:00 after suffering from tuberculosis since last September. Funeral services were held Sunday afternoon at 1:30 at the house and at 2:00 at Trinity Lutheran church, Rev Falk of the Wynot Lutheran church officiating. Burial was in the Hartington cemetery.
      Mrs Gregersen, formerly Miss Verda Slater, the daughter of Mr and Mrs Jerry Slater, was born October 15th 1892 at Amazona MO. When she was a year old her parents moved to Battle Creek Iowa where she grew to womanhood. On March 6th 1912 she was married to Mr Gregersen at Battle Creek where they began housekeeping.
      Her mother died in 1916 and in 1924 the Gregersen family moved to Omaha and in 1925 came to Hartington. Mrs Gregersen was a member of the Royal Neighbor lodge and of the Lutheran church having been baptized and confirmed in that faith last September.
      She is survived by her husband who is in the blacksmith business in Hartington, by five children one brother and four sisters. The children are Mildred, Ellen, Leonard Lyle, and Phyllis. Mildred, 16 has been attending school until last fall when she remained at home to care for her mother, the house, and the other children, the two youngest Lyle and Phyllis, being only five and two years old respectively.
      The brother is Henry Slater of Correctionville IA, and the sisters are Mrs George Sand of Danbury IA, Mrs Bertha Damarest of Correctionville IA, Mrs Chas Ronberg of Omaha, and Mrs Fred Mortensen whose address has been unknown the last nine years. All the brothers and sisters except Mrs Mortensen were present at the funeral.
