George Alton Heflin, 89, Big Rock, died Friday, March 23, 2001, at Trinity Hospital.
The funeral will be at Anglin Memorial Chapel in Dover, with Rev Morris Lee and Rev David Whitehead officiating. Burial will be in Taylor Chapel Cemetery in Big Rock.
He was bom on May 20, 1911, in Stewart County, son of Joseph Heflin and Lois Lee Heflin. He is the widower of Viola P Wallace Heflin. He was preceded in death by a son, Dotson Heflin. Mr Heflin was a farmer.
Survivors include two sons, Bruce Heflin, Clarksville and George E. Heflin, Dover, two daughters, Brenda Atkins, Charlotte, Tena, and Linda Horsey, Cunningham; two sisters, Earlene Wallace and Reese Wallace, both of Big Rock; 12 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be John Atkins, David Heflin, Dale Herndon, John D Howell, Garrett Wall, Travis Wall, and Dewey Wallace.

Survivors include her husband, George A Heflin, Big Rock; three sons, George E Heflin, Dover, Dotson Heflin, Big Rock, and Bruce Heflin, Clarksville; two daughters, Brenda Atkins, Dickson, and Linda Horsey; Cunningham; a brother, Robert G Wallace, Dover; a sister, Emma Page, Dover; nine grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. Grandsons, will serve as pallbearers.
