[S3774] Obituary of Lera Wright - Paducah Sun - 1975, (Name: The Paducah Sun; Location: Paducah KY; Date: 17 Sep 1975;), MRS WRIGHT, 80, CRASH VICTIM, RITES PLANNED. Services for Mrs Lera Weatherspoon Wright, 80, will be conducted Thursday at the Hornbeak Funeral Home. The Rev David Clapp will officiate and burial will follow in Liberty Cemetery. Mrs Wright died Monday in Weakley County TN, of injuries suffered in a highway accident. Her sister, Mrs Walter Hawkes of Fulton is reported to be in serious condition in Jackson-Madison County Hospital in Jackson. The two sisters were en route to Fulton from Greenfield when the accident occurred one mile north of Greenfield on US 45E. According to the information received here, the car, driven by Mrs Hawks, topped a hill and swerved to avoid hitting a truck that had stopped on the highway and skidded across the center line into the path of a southbound car. The driver of the other vehicle was Clay F Smith of Germantown TN. The extent of his injuries was not available. A native of Obion County TN, Mrs Wright was the widow of Jesse A Wright and was a member of Fulton First Baptist Church and the American Legion Auxiliary. Survivors include a son, Glenn Weatherspoon of Canyon County CA; four grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, and two sisters, Mrs Hawkes and Mrs Nannie Austin of Fulton.
