Cemetery-Mountain View (Auburn WA)
Mountain View Cemetery (also known as Auburn Cemetery) -- Auburn, King, Washington ~ Mountain View Cemetery was established November 8, 1890, a full year before the town of Slaughter was incorporated as a 4th class town. (The name was changed to Auburn in 1893). At the instigation of social societies, including Independent Order of Odd Fellows and Knights of Pythias, the Mountain View Cemetery Association was formed for the purpose of purchasing land well removed from White River's annual floods, which were damaging Slaughter Precinct Cemetery. Forty acres of land was purchased from Daniel Starr, and 92 Citizens contributed $25 each for bonds which allowed them plot space and trusteeships. During the Depression Era, the cemetery suffered due to a lack of water. In 1945, a group of businessmen formed the Thousand One Club; their first act for community betterment was a move to transfer the cemetery to the City of Auburn + https://www.findagrave.com/cemetery/76704/mountain-view-cemetery

Cemetery-Western State Hospital (Lakewood WA)
Cemetery-Western State Hospital (Lakewood WA)
Western State Hospital Memorial Cemetery -- Lakewood, Pierce, Washington ~ Originally the site was a US Army post called Ft Steilacoom. Later, the Army decommissioned the post and Washington State repurposed the facility as a mental hospital. The Western State Hospital Cemetery is a separate cemetery from the original post cemetery, Fort Steilacoom Cemetery. In 1871 an insane asylum opened there with the barracks serving as patient and staff housing. Fort Steilacoom is now the mental hospital called Western State Hospital. Hospital residents grew crops and orchards in the area and planted many of the Poplar trees that currently line the lake shore. More than 3,000 hospital residents are buried in the Fort Steilacoom or Western State Hospital Cemetery. As was with many hospital burials of the day, graves were either unmarked in marked rows or, like in this cemetery, only marked with a small concrete numbered block + https://www.findagrave.com/cemetery/641580/Western-State-Hospital-Memorial-Cemetery

Cemetery-Calvary (Tacoma WA)
Cemetery-Calvary (Tacoma WA)
Calvary Cemetery (also known as Calvary Catholic Cemetery) --Tacoma, Pierce, Washington ~ This cemetery was specifically founded to cater to Catholics in the area. There is a Sisters plot specifically set aside for the nuns that serve the area. In the middle of the plot is a huge statue of the Crucifixion, under which is buried Reverend Father Peter Hylebos. In 1933 there was a fire that eradicated a good number of the burial records. Due to this fire there are a number of burials that will always remain undocumented due to either buried markers or no markers at all. The cemetery added their mausoleum called "The Cloisters" in 1956, sections in it are named after Saints. The roads inside the cemetery are also named after Saints + https://www.findagrave.com/cemetery/76727/calvary-cemetery
